The year 2009 marked the 150th anniversary of the Society and to mark the occasion on Show Day the Stokesley Local History Society mounted an excellent display of the past 150 years of Stokesley as a town, with the Society displaying aspects of its last 150 years.

The Show was founded in 1859 at a meeting held at The Golden Lion (now Chapters Hotel) High Street, Stokesley
